Frequently Asked Questions.

Can I bring a plus one and/or my children?

To allow all guests to relax and enjoy the celebration, we have chosen to make our destination wedding child-free. We truly appreciate your understanding.

We have thought about each persons’ experience and your invitations have been addressed accordingly. All people invited are designated on the envelope.

The ____ Family = Please bring your nuclear family!

Mr. ___ & Ms. ____ = Please bring one or both of you!

Ms./Mr. ____ + Guest = Please bring yourself and a guest!

Mr./Ms.______ = Please bring yourself! That means there are other individuals flying solo that you regularly hang out with attending!

What is the closest Airport?

Belfast is the closest airport, however Dublin is only slightly further. Dublin is a common, cheap entry point to Europe, with round trip flights.

Dublin is a 2 hour drive from the venue and Belfast is a bit over 1.5 hours. Rome2Rio is a great resource to see all transportation options.

What is the dress code?

Formal, please! For the wedding, we ask that all women wear full length dresses / nice suits / jumpsuit and the men wear suits and jackets. The wedding is in a castle so feel free to bring your best royal vibes!

Of course, for the rest of the days on property - wear whatever you feel best and most yourself in! There is no dress code outside of the wedding.

We kindly ask that you do not wear predominantly beige, white, or cream outfits for all of our festivities. :) All other colors of the spectrum are welcome!

What made you choose Ireland?

We had initially planned on getting married in Colorado - where we met and fell in love! But we couldn’t find a venue that fit everything we wanted for us and our guests.

Because 90% would have to travel no matter where it was, it was important that we picked somewhere that had easy accommodation options and once guests arrived, ease of access to the venue and for every activity through the weekend.

When looking at costs of a wedding in Aspen, Vail, or Lyons, the accommodation options/costs…we decided to look seriously at the our castle option. The UK has phenomenal public transportation and the cost of accommodation on property proved to be a bit less (and nicer!) than what we were seeing in the locations above.

We recommend our guests to start watching flights and purchase early! For Late Aug/September, you can find a great deal from most major airports. Once we have our flights booked, we will poste them here in case anyone wants to travel together!

For more information on travel, location, and accommodation, please see the Castle page.

What is the Currency?

Pounds. The venue is in Northern Ireland which uses the pound. However we are JUST over the border from the Republic of Ireland so any time in Dublin or South of the venue will require Euros.

The Wise App was recommended to us by one of our vendors. It allows you to watch the exchange rate daily and quickly purchase pounds/euros when the conversion is working in our favor. While in the UK/Europe, the Wise app may be more widely accepted than Venmo & Apple Pay.

What is there to do around town?

We have the Castle grounds booked to ourselves for the three nights we are there (September 04 - 07, 2026). The grounds offer multiple activities including a dock for kayaking/paddle boarding, fishing, and a few nature trails. There are a few other options for hire that we are digging into and will begin asking guests if they’d like to participate as we get a bit closer! Off Property, there is a nearby town with a bakery, grocery store, and a few local Irish pubs.

Travel Tips!

We know not all of our guests travel often and we are overjoyed we can share something we love with you!! If you are in that category, this is our way of making sure you feel confident and supported in your travels. :)

  1. Consider your luggage choice. Are you traveling around before/after the wedding? If so, will your accomodation have elevators or stairs only? This matters when it comes to lugging your suitcase up 5 floors and onto tiny little taxi boats. (This is a lesson that’s not the most fun to learn)

  2. Universal plug adaptor!! You can buy one in country if you forget but best to have one handy at the start.

  3. Airlines don’t often lose luggage but if there is absolutely something you NEED to have or it will ruin your entire trip, carry it on!!

    1. Hiding an Apple AirTag in your luggage is also a good idea! I’ve seen this be helpful with anxiety first hand. :)

  4. Wear sandals onto the long haul flight and change into cozy socks once on board! This is Dani’s PRO TIP and even though Rollin thinks it’s silly - it’s not. (No wearing shoes for HOURS when you’re trying to be cozy, no stinky feet if you take your shoes off, no lacing up shoes to walk to the bathroom on flight, feet are cozy & warm!

  5. Pack toiletries in your carry on/personal item so you can brush your teeth whenever you want. So. Nice.

    1. Chapstick, sunblock, eye drops, liquid IV, lotion, etc also in your personal item

  6. Pack a couple of snacks. Dani’s first vacation with the Ritter family, they had a whole backpack of candy! AMAZING. (Our favorite protein travel snack is a bag of beef sticks.).

  7. Other items that you may find helpful when traveling:

    1. Wireless headphone adaptor for plane

    2. Travel vacuum bags (Haven’t tested these personally but likely will for the trip!)

    3. Trolley strap if your personal item doesn’t come with one.

    4. Airplane phone holder - SO NICE! Dani uses it on every flight.
